Privacy Policy of University of Milan (in accordance with art. 13 Legislative Decree no. 196/03 and art. 13 and 14 of EU Regulation 2016/679).


Regarding the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data, the Data Subject is informed that the processing of personal data provided by the same and acquired will be processed in compliance with the regulations provided for and by the aforementioned Regulation, and in compliance with the rights and obligations arising therefrom.

Legal basis


We will process your personal data on the basis of art. 6 para. 1 letter a) and letter b). In particular, we specify that consent is not a condition of lawfulness (described below) of the processing when it is justified by the need to perform a contract or pre-contractual measures, or to comply with a legal obligation to which the data controller is subject.
The legitimate interests of the data controller or third parties may also constitute a valid legal basis for the processing, provided that the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject do not prevail.
In general, such legitimate interests may exist when there is a relevant and appropriate relationship between the data controller and the data subject, for example when the data subject is a customer of the data controller.
In particular, it is a legitimate interest of the data controller to process personal data of the customer/data subject: for the purpose of fraud prevention, for direct and informative marketing purposes, to ensure the free movement of such data in order to guarantee the security of networks and information, i.e. the ability of a network to withstand unforeseen events or unlawful acts that may compromise the availability, authenticity, integrity and confidentiality of the data (art. 5 of EU Regulation 2016/679 GDPR).


Lawfulness and purpose of the processing


The personal data provided is necessary for the conclusion and execution of the contract in force between the Parties, as well as for tax and billing compliance related to it. They will be transmitted solely to the Professionals responsible for the accounting and tax management of the company.
These subjects are appointed Data Processors and the data provided will be processed with the same guarantees provided by GDPR.
The data processed relating to customers are: personal data, accounting/administrative billing data, and banking data.


Data retention period


The retention of the personal data provided will take place on the company database to provide the best possible service to customers.
The data is stored on servers of the (University of Milan Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (DIVAS) Via dell'Università 6 - 26900 Lodi LO (Italy) protected by external access through firewall systems and password access to the database.
Paper data is kept in locked archives with access reserved for the data controllers only.


Data communication scope


The personal data provided by you, for the purposes described in art. 3, may be disclosed to employees and/or collaborators of the University of Milan Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (DIVAS), appointed as data processors, and communicated to the following subjects:


a) Affiliated and controlled companies;
b) Third-party companies appointed by New Med srl to perform specific executive phases of the services provided;
c) Third-party companies or consultants appointed for the installation, maintenance, updating, and, in general, management of the hardware and software of the University of Milan Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (DIVAS);
d) All public and/or private entities, natural and/or legal persons (administrative, tax, and legal consulting firms), if communication is necessary or functional to the correct fulfillment of contractual obligations related to the services provided, as well as obligations deriving from the law;
e) All subjects (including Public Authorities) who have access to data by virtue of regulatory or administrative provisions.
The personal data provided by you and subsequently processed in relation to the management of the service is not subject to disclosure.


Organizational and technical measures


In order to ensure the protection of personal data from the design stage and to ensure that they are treated appropriately, by default, only the data necessary for each specific processing purpose.
The University of Milan Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (DIVAS) collects and takes into maximum consideration indications, observations, and opinions of the Customer/interested party transmitted to the above contacts, in order to implement the policy that ensures effective protection of individuals, with regard to the processing of their data.
This Information may undergo modifications, in coherence with the evolution of the reference legislation and the technical and organizational measures adopted by the University of Milan Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (DIVAS); therefore, the Customer/interested party is requested to periodically visit this section of the Site, to view the updates and the Information in force from time to time.


Automated Processes


The University of Milan Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (DIVAS) does not carry out automated processing, including profiling, except to improve customer experience and collaboration, unless otherwise specified regarding the opposition and withdrawal of consent from the Customer/interested party.
The University of Milan Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (DIVAS), represented by its legal representative, does not carry out any automated processing that produces legal effects that concern the Customer/interested party or that significantly affect their person in a similar manner, unless necessary for the conclusion or execution of the Contract, authorized by law, or based on the explicit consent of the Customer/interested party.


Rights of the Data Subject


In relation to the data subject to the processing referred to in this notice, the right is recognized at any time to:
Access the data processed pursuant to art. 15 of EU Reg. 2016/679;
Rectify the data processed pursuant to art. 16 of EU Reg. 2016/679;
Erase the data processed pursuant to art. 17 of EU Reg. 2016/679;
Restrict processing pursuant to art. 18 of EU Reg. 2016/679;
Portability, intended as the right to obtain from the Data Controller the data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format to transmit them to another Data Controller without hindrance, pursuant to art. 20 of EU Reg. 2016/679;
Object to processing pursuant to art. 21 of EU Reg. 2016/679;
Withdraw consent to processing, without prejudice to the lawfulness of processing based on consent before the withdrawal, pursuant to art. 7, para. 3 of EU Reg. 2016/679;
Lodge a complaint with the Garante for the Protection of Personal Data Authority pursuant to art. 51 of EU Reg. 2016/679.
